Me and Fabiha made some changes to our story board. This is because with the help of our teachers and researching other films we came up with a better idea for the plot.
Main Idea:
The main idea is pretty much the same because it is still about the two min characters who are the opposite of eeach other character wise.
Settings:
Settings are also the same (for girl Bow Tredegar) and for boy (Stepney Blocks). However we decided to add two parks. For the girl we decided that there should be more shots of her location and her house was not enough. That is why we chose a park near our college called Stepney Green Parkwhich has a nice environment which could look posh enough to ake it the female character's setting. For the boy, we chose to also add a park to reinforce the idea of how opposite because of the parallel editing. The park is quite small and still situated in Stepney, it has blocks around it which are perfect for a good shot that shows the audience what the male charcter's area is like.
Plot:
This is what we mainly changed. She does not change herself into a different person even looks wise to impress the boy. We thought that would be too mainstream. Also, she will not have a mental breakdown while trying to change herself because we do not think it is a good idea. We want to keep an idea of her being a happy girl that is happy with the way she looks and is always pretty and glammed up due to her passion for beauty and fashion. However, scenes such as her putting on the red lipstick will still be included due to how it would further rapresent her fierceness and her love for makeup. The characters will not meet due to how our teacher suggested that that would give too much of the story away.

Group Discussion
Discussion:
Me and my group have roughly planned about the plot of our film. It mainly focuses on the two main characters, the boy and the girl. The idea is around the fact that the girl and the boy are the complete opposite, personality, looks wise and class wise. The girl is presented as this classy, tidy, reserved girl that has a crush on the male character. The boy on the other hand is shown as this rebellious teenager that looks like a "bad boy" or "hoodrat" who lives in the classic East London estate, with a poor family background. I was mainly inspired by the film Titanic due to how it has elements that I think would work in our film opening. Elements such as the difference within their class. Jack is from a working/lower class family, while Rose is from one of the richest families back in the 1940's.
Settings:
As we decided that the girl would be posh and classy, we thought that her home should be a house located in a posh, clean area such as Chelsea or Tredegar Bow since it is closer. We think it is one of the best ways to rapresent her lifestyle as normally the audience would expect a posh family to live in a big house, in a posh area, because homes of upper class families are always located in areas such as Chelsea. This will further convey what type of lifestyle she is living and what kind of background she is from. It will help the audience understand the aspects of the characters of the film. The male character on the other hand, is quite the opposite of her. He is from a poor background, as i said and he lives in East London. The type of housing that we thought would be the most appropriate for him is a block, with flats. This is because blocks are usually seen as a property specifically made for working class/ lower class families. We will probably choose a block around our college due to how it is easier for us to reach the place and film. It is also an advantage for us because of how the college is already located in East London, where we typically find those types of buildings.
Plot:
The girl secretly likes the guy even though she kows her parents and family will never accept him due to the contrats of lifestyles and class. It is also a matter of reputation because a rich family would not want their daughter to have a relationship with a boy like that. She secretly wants him really bad to the point where she tries to change herself into a different girl to catch his attention. There will be props included in the scene where she tries to change the way she looks such as make up (red lipstick). However, we want to include a twist to the film: the girl will have a mental break down after changing the way she looks, where she starts crying and hating herself for who she really is. This will then lead to something special later on with her crush.

Titles Research
When me and Fabiha researched romantic titles we found they varied in different types of romantic
movies. One thing we found out from this research was that the titles are
written associated with the storyline of the movie.
This is from the movie The Cinderella Story. The titles we see now are the ones that show the names of characters and extra inforation, not the font for the actual production logo. The colour
of the font in this picture is written in pink which is traditionally
associated with femininity and youth. They used this specific colour
because this movie is targeted for young girls and teenage girls. Moreover, the
font is swirly making it girly, targeting young girls and further demonstrating the fact that it is girly.
The movie 'A Cinderella Story' is a romance/ family/ drama which was targeted at a younger audience as well
as teenagers. A certain font was chosen in, it is almost fairy like which is
associated with the movie as this is a story of a fairytale. It seems like there is almost magin involved in the font which again is associated with the plot of the film because it is kind of magical. This was used
specifically to present the typical teenage like film, it gives the impression
of the target audience for this specific font.
The title in this movie is very at
the bottom, this is because they want the audience focus more on the image of
the two protagonists. The Title is in black and it stands out in with the from
the white background (Ryan Gosling's Shirt). The writing is in capital letters
and the word 'Notebook' is underlined this fulfils the titles of a romantic
genre. It is very common in romantic movies to have this 'swirly' effect on the
titles. This word is also larger that the other words in the poster therefore
the audience immediately focus on that word.
This title is again at the bottom
of the poster, this is because the focus is mainly on the protagonists. The
title is written in a 'swirly' font which fulfils the conventions of a romantic
film title. The white background helps the title stand out more as it is
written in a blood red. The colour
red was specifically used as it could symbolises
love, lust and passion. The movie is associated with love letters and the title
is written in a way a love letter will be written.
